0:01I heard in this some people saying that there is karma and everything happen according to the karma but and then Ishwar, Ishwar or Krishna or God is just to give you like motivation or give you like support support or something like that so you have to face your karma and whatever will happen will happen as per your whatever is written for you and Ishwar or Krishna is just to say.

0:53So, but we say that, I also hear from our devotees or something, they say that if you worship to Krishna, then Krishna will fulfill your desire, or maybe he will support you on your journey. So what is the support? What is the contribution of Krishna in our journey or in our karma or whatever?

1:17Yes. Did everyone hear the question? Yes. So the question is, some persons who have a degree of familiarity with the Vedic concept of life, they say, everything is just happening according to karma, and you have to face your karma, no matter what. And so, what is the utility of Krishna? Krishna is Ishwara, he is the controller of karma, and he will give you your karma, but it's useful to be devoted to Krishna.

1:58Krishna, because Krishna will help you deal with those difficult situations. So, this is the question.

2:10Now, first of all, it is true that in this world, all the conditioned souls, I don't want to speak about sadhus, mukta purush, jivan mukta, liberated persons, great saints, but all conditioned souls, they are very tightly bound by the ropes of karma.

2:40from Indra, the king of heaven in the higher planets, down to Indra Gop, one small insect here in this world, everyone, even though they feel the illusion of freedom, they are very tightly controlled by karma, the reactions of their past activities, every living being is Atma, a soul, but in the condition state, that soul is identifying with the body and the mind. So the karmas are coming from outside and also from inside. Your cintasrot, cintasrot, flow of thoughts, that is that they comprise the reactions of karma from past life. So when an ordinary person thinks, oh today I woke up, I was free and I made the choice to do this thing, but this idea came into their mind exactly on schedule of their karma.

3:41according to the karmic schedule. But because the soul is identifying with the mind, then he thinks, I have made this choice. I am free. But everyone is just like a bull with a ring through the nose and they're being pulled. Or like a person going through a tunnel. When you're in a tunnel, you can only go in the direction of the tunnel. You cannot go left or right. You have to go in the direction of the tunnel. Or like a train on a track. The train is not free to go here or there.

4:12the track is already laid and the train must go on the route of that track. So everyone's track, everyone's karma is fixed and no one can escape. So now the question comes, what is the utilization of praying to Krishna or taking shelter of Ishwara? So this question is wrong. The question itself is wrong. Why? Because we have the idea that I am the enjoyer and I should utilize everything for my purposes.

4:46This is why the soul is entangled in karma. The reason we are entangled in karma is because we are only thinking, I am the center point of everything, and everything is to be used by me for my own purpose. And so when a person comes to religion, when they come to dharma, when they come to Ishwara, to God, then they analyze God and try to measure him, oh how useful can this person be on my agenda?

5:22So bhakti yoga is not the process of engaging Krishna in our agenda. Bhakti yoga is ourselves becoming engaged in Krishna's agenda. You see? So we have to change our attitude. Don't try to think how useful God can be in my imprisoned existence. Try to think how useful we can be to please the Supreme Lord. Now what happens if a person surrenders to Krishna by following the instructions of Guru? Only that person becomes completely free from all karma.

6:14
adi purusham tamham bhajami. It is said that at the first part of the verse we quoted, everyone from the higher beings down to the insects are under the control of karma. And the second part of it says, but if someone surrenders to Sri Krishna and serves Sri Krishna, then all his karma is burnt. It is incinerated to ashes and whatever sins were coming to crush you and give problems in your life.

6:46You should know that suffering, what is suffering? Only paap, sins. We have done some sins, so we suffer. If we did not do sins, we would not be suffering. And what is material enjoyment? It's only punya. We did some kindness. We performed some pious activities for others. And so that comes back in the form of some material pleasures. But paap and punya, they are both two sides of the same coin of karma.

7:18But when we surrender to Krishna, then this karma is taken away Now you also raised another issue Someone said, if you serve Krishna then you can fulfill your desires So this is true, Krishna is very kind He knows that we cannot surrender in a completely, not everyone, some people can surrender at once But in most cases, the soul cannot surrender fully He wants to surrender to Krishna, but He also has some material desire as well So He said The meaning is If a person has no material desires Or if a person has all material desires Or if a person just wants mukti even, liberation Whoever you are

8:25
then tivrena bhakti yogena you should engage in the service of Krishna intensely with great enthusiasm why because bhakti devotion to see Krishna is auspicious for everyone if you serve Krishna without any desire then very Krishna very soon Krishna will manifest his beautiful spiritual form he'll bestow upon you your eternal beautiful spiritual body and Krishna will

8:58invite you to participate in his beautiful pastimes, beyond time, beyond space, beyond death, in the realm of eternal joy, that is Goloka Vrindavan. So that is the most successful path.

9:14
Anya bilashita shunyam jnana kama adhina vrtam, anu kulye ina Krishna, anu shilam bhakti uttama, to give up all selfish desire and try to act only for the benefit, for the auspiciousness of see Krishna, only favorable to see Krishna, that is the most effective strategy, that's the optimum plan in your life.

9:40But if you are a little bit nervous and have some doubts and unsure, then anyway, engage in bhakti, even if you have some worldly desire And then, if you desire liberation, if you are very fixed in that, Krishna can easily give liberation He said, Krishna, if someone serves him and they want liberation, easily he can give liberation What is very difficult to attain by great rishis and yogis, a person can easily attain by taking shelter of Krishna But mainly Krishna is very kind and if you want liberation and you serve Krishna, Krishna will give you more association of devotees And in that association you'll experience such a joy in bhakti that you'll spit on liberation and say I don't want it

10:41kaival, yam, nara, kaya, te, you think, oh, nirvana, mukti, moksha, liberation into the eternal light, wow, that sounds like narak, hell, that's worse than hell, at least if you're in hell, you can have a kirtan, but if you go in nirvana, then you don't even have a voice to sing kirtan, there are no cartels or madangas there, there are no devotees there, so you think that the liberation is worse than hell, and you'll give up that desire. And if you have some material desire, let's say you want to become very wealthy or very famous or have a beautiful wife and 20 children, then Krishna, if you serve Krishna with full energy, even though that result is not in your astrological chart, it's written in your chart that what you want, you cannot have it. It's forbidden impossible because you did not do the punya in order to have that destiny.

11:52But Krishna is so kind See Krishna, it is said in Bhagavatamrita, that if you have some material desires, then Krishna will arrange to fulfill those desires, but in such a way, that you'll never ask for those things again Because when you get those things, then you'll find that your soul is not satisfied, that you don't feel, you are thinking, when I get this thing, my life will be amazing.

12:38Just like once, I went to London to give a speech in the Houses of Parliament, so there after the conference, there was a banquet for all the politicians and ambassadors from around the world. And they arranged that everyone was on tables with their name. And they were all from different countries put together on the same table for networking.

13:06And so you don't sit on the table with just some people from your own country. They arranged it. So I was sitting next to one elderly Asian gentleman.

13:17And he said to me: Oh, Prem Prayojan, I heard your speech in the conference. He said of all the people here, Of all the politicians and ambassadors, You are the only one who told the truth. He said, really? Why? What made you say that? He said, because they are all trying to get happiness only through economic development. But happiness never comes from worldly achievement. It only comes from realizing your relationship with God. And in this life, one day, very soon, in the blink of an eye, you'll be old and you'll die. And when the person is at the last moment of life, they're about to leave this world, then they say, oh, I wish I'd spent more time at the office.

14:10said no one. No one ever said that. Everyone said, oh, I wish I spent more time praying. I wish I spent more time doing some spiritual activities because I'm unprepared and now I'll be crushed by the reactions of my work. I'm ashamed. In the last moment, the worldly persons become ashamed that I wasted my life. Many times I saw a church, I saw a temple, I saw a priest, I saw a sadhu, a saint, a devotee, but I never served.

14:43them, I never listened to them, and even if I did, I didn't follow them. And then that person is so ashamed. So no one thinks like this. So that person, he said, you are the only one who's told the truth in this conference. So then he said that when I was at college, I went to university, and I wanted to get a PhD. And I thought, when I get my doctorate, I'll be happy. And then I got my doctorate, and I was so happy.

15:20for two days. And after two days, I return to my base level. You know, in your brain, you have the reward system, and there's some dopamine. So everyone has a base level. Some persons, the reward system, the dopamine is on this level, and they are always miserable. They can sometimes be happy for a moment, then they return to their base level. Some persons are a little bit more happy, some people are more happy. But whatever happens in your life, everyone just returns to their base level of, hmm.

15:57Okay, it's okay. So after two days, again, I was just like, actually, it's the same. So then I thought, oh, now I have a PhD. If I can become a professor at Harvard University, then I'll be so happy. And then I got the job of professor at Harvard University in economics. And I was so happy, he said, for two days. And then I felt empty again. Then I was thinking after being professor of economics at Harvard University, if I could become, the president of the World Bank. I'll be happy. And then he got a promotion. He became the head of the World Bank. And he said, I was so happy for two days. And then, so he told me, my wife is a doctor, a famous doctor in South Korea. So I earned so much money and I built her her own private hospital. And she's in charge of that hospital. And in that hospital, there's one ward where all the patients who are really, surely, they will die.

17:11this week or next week, they go to that ward. And he said, I go and I visit my wife's hospital and I go to visit those persons who will surely die. And I see that those persons who, they were not religious, they were not spiritual, they did not serve God and they did not pray to God in their life. At the last moment, they are there in their last few weeks and they're completely blank. They're empty. They have no, they cannot think.

17:46and they feel fear because they know game over, it's the end and they were thinking only about money and wealth and power and pleasure and selfish things and all of it has disappeared just like smoke, like a dream, an illusion, a trick, a mirage in the desert, gone and now they can't even think.

18:17They have like a mental and intellectual paralysis along with their physical paralysis and they're afraid and he told me but I see those persons who were in their life praying to God and serving God and serving the saints then at the last moment they are shining and just before they're about to die they shine even more and they're very happy and they're inspired they're ready to go to the next chapter and serve in another place with new enthusiasm.

18:54and they're filled with optimism. So this old elderly, very successful gentleman, he explained to me, it's very important, listen to elderly persons who have lived, they have experience, we can learn from their positive experience and also from their mistakes, but especially hear from guru, because guru has full realization of this world. If we hear from Guru, we can avoid all pitfalls and all mistakes and directly go to the perfection of our life.

19:33But if we don't hear, then we'll have to learn from so many mistakes over so many lifetimes. So that gentleman, he was just sharing his experience that this human form of life is meant for serving God. and those who do that their life is successful and everything else is utter failure 100% loss and zero profit and those who serve the Supreme Lord it is 100% profit and zero loss so don't think about how you can engage Krishna in your agenda you try to think how you can be connected to Krishna and serve him according to his desire.

20:25So the desire of Krishna manifests through the Agya, the order of Guru. When Guru gives order, this is Krishna's desire. And when we connect in fulfilling that by serving and following that desire, then what happens?

20:51For those who are engaged, Krishna said, for those who are engaged in serving me, continuously, without any interruption, then they rise above the gunas, they rise above this plane of material existence, tamagun, rajagun, and even sattvagun, ignorance, passion, and even worldly goodness. They rise above this and they come to the divine platform.

21:19Not when you die, in this life. A person whose body, mind and words are completely engaged in the service of Krishna. Wherever he is and whatever he is doing. Then that person is above the gunas, he is called Jivan Mukta, liberated even in this life. Don't think Krishna is very far away, Krishna is vibu, all pervading, he is everywhere.

22:00And those who are pure, they can see Krishna right now, they are with Krishna right now, they are with Krishna at every moment and all the time. And you can be like that too, you can realize the Supreme Lord and you can realize your spiritual form. and become immortal in this lifetime but we have to make the properly informed decision to surrender to Krishna through his representative Sri Guru in the Guru Parampara and then we can experience all of these things.

22:37So try to shift your perspective, change your angle of vision, instead of thinking, how can I enjoy? Think, how can I please Krishna? And as soon as we make that decision, we become released from the grip of karmas, and we become elevated through the gunas, tamagun, rajagun, sattvagun, to vishuddha sattva, to the plane of pure existence.

23:11Understand? Thank you. It was an excellent question.
