0:01So, by the closest mercy of Sri Guranguranga, today we are most fortunate because our dearmost Kamangayan Chaturvedi, our most respected Vaishnav Bhusura, Brahmin of the Dham, has come from Madhupuri here to join us for Harikutta today. So I humbly request my dearest Sri Kamal Narayan, Kamal Nayan Chatovedi to share some nectar of Harikata and say a few words of the nectar of the glories of Sri Krishna.
1:10Distribute that to all the Vaishnavas. Hare Krishna.
1:32We all are very fortunate because we have the chance to hear Shri Hari Katha.
1:42Hearing Hari Katha is just not a spiritual exercise.
1:47It is Hari Sakshatkar, direct perception of Hari Katha. So there are different ways by which you can realize or you can have the experience of the Holy Lord with your eyes, with taste. Divya Gandh Tulsi Madhumattai Yugalgeet Tulsi. Tulsi is carrying the Divya Gandh of Nithilila. So, how you can experience the Divine Lord with your ears?
2:34So, Harikatha. Harikatha is incarnation of Lord. You can ask, how I am saying? These are just words or my thoughts? No. In Anandavan, Sanak Sanandan Sankadik Kumar recited Bhagwat and Narajji along with Gyan, Vairakyan, Bhakti they had the opportunity to listen to Hari Katha for the seven days. So after listening to Hari Katha Narajji didn't say I am so fortunate I got the chance to listen to Hari Katha.
3:12No. He said not only I have the opportunity to listen to Katha instead I have attained the Lord because I have attained the Katha. So there is no difference between Shri Hari and Shri harikatha and it is the cherry on the cake you are having the posture to listen the harikatha in shri vrindavan dham but there is a difference because of the guru kripa we are here but how we should live here so there was one great saint great scholar in dakshin bharat shri gadadar bhatt he was a great poet so someone was traveling to vrindavan to meet shadguswami so he wrote so he wrote write a patr and in that patr he write a poem beautiful poem
4:17My eyes are painted with the glories of Shri Radha Krishna And that person gave that patr Where it was written My eyes, my senses are just painted With the leelas, with the cathars of Shri Yugal Shri Radha Krishna He gave that patr to Shri Rupa Goswami So Rupa Goswami just smiled And he just took a piece of paper and write a beautiful shlok and ask that person when you are going back gave it to Gadadhar Bhatt what he wrote in that letter just one shlok so when Gadadhar Bhatt wrote that one shlok he left everything and came to Vrindavan what was that in that shlok
5:18Sri Jeeva Goswami said
5:25you are sitting in in the Dakshin Bharat at Kamba so whatever you have written it is just your thought without doing three things your eyes cannot be painted with the glories with the leelas what what they are without worshipping the divine feats of shri so how you can worship the feats of shri adharani what is the most dearest thing to shri swamini without worshipping the land where each inch of land is decorated with the footmark of Shri Adharani very important without listening to the discourses of those whose eyes and senses
6:39are painted with the glories of Shri Adharani without taking shelter of sadguru who is a rasik if you take a shelter of arasik you can never attain the ras shekhar prahu in rigved there is a mantra in rigved the rishi asked what is the supreme truth shiv satya yo vaha shivattamu what is kashakka shivattamu what is shivattamu shiv means what is the supreme truth so shurti said rasaha yo vaha shivattamu rasaha so the Rishi asks again, what you will do with this Rasa?
7:36We should get that Rasa. How you will get it?
7:45The way, the very small child, they do not have any quality. Even they don't know how to speak. Just they cry. And mother, she feeds them. She understands. The kid wants to sleep. Or what he wants to do. Or what is its needs.
8:13So, like with Vatsalya, Maa gave his most precious things to his kids. It's the same way, with the same Vatsalya, Shri Prabhu will give it to you.
8:27So, Guru Kripa, Guru Kripa is the only medium to get that. So, we are very fortunate. We are sitting under a shelter of a Rasik. He is not only a good scholar, a Vidwan, a Bhajnanandi, but he is a Rasik. and Chakravarti Paath is also saying in his Bhagavad commentary this Bhagavad it is property of Rasik because Srimad Bhagavad the beach the seed of Srimad Bhagavad is Sringar Ras those who do not have probation Sringar Ras they cannot recite Bhagavad so our Acharya Rashad Goswami they have done the commentary on Bhagavad with Sringar Ras and we are like a son can attain father's property legally so we are the legal son behave all the right over the Bhagavad.
9:31Those who are earth-sick cannot recite Bhagavad. If they recite, there will be no benefit. So, Asambhash Chattad-Bhava Gambhir Chattana, with the good devotees, with Sadguru, if you do three things, worshipping Radharani, worshipping the sand of this Vrindavan, and worshipping your Gurudev, if you do three things, your eyes will be painted with the glories of Shri Radharani.
9:59So, you are here on the time of Huli, where the Lord is most merciful. In Huli, Lord also fear some goopy will come and throw the colors so he's not seeing who is in front of me oh you are there give give the rush so we are very fortunate we are here and with the mercy of Shri Prabhu and Shri Thakurji I am very sure by the holy we all will have such a experience so Jai Jai Shri Rādhi.
17:51Aadha kundam kirivaram Aho radhika amhadvasam Pratoya sipratetakripaya Shrihi Guru Tamantosmi Guravehi gauracandraya Radhikayetadale Krishnaya krishnabhaktaya Tad Bhaktaya Namunama Ananda Leelamaya Vikrahaya Hemabha Divyatsh Chavisundaraya Tasmaimah Premarasapradaya Chaitanya Chandraya Namunama Chaitanya Chandraya Namunama Chaitanya Chandraya Bhaktyavehina Taparaya
20:29First of all, I offer my Sastang Dandavat Puspanjali.
20:54Secondly, I offer my pranam thousands of times at the lotus feet of my Paramaguru Dev to Srila Prabhupada and to all of our Sri Rupanuga Gaudiya Guru Parampara. And finally, I have for my pranam to all the assembled Vaishnavas and Vaishnavis headed by Poojapad Sri Kamandarayan Chattu Vedi. Vamjakal Tathurvasa Kripasundu Bhavata Putitanam Pavanir Vaishnavi Bhavata.
21:20Shri Gurudevaki Shri Guranya Guranga, we have been hearing from my dear Priyabandu, dear friend, about the glories of Harikatha. you should know that now you have arrived in Brindavan Dham but did Brindavan Dham accept you or not how will you know so when the Brahmins of the Dham they welcome you that means the Dham Brindavan Dham has welcomed and accepted you so my Prabhuji was saying how Guru Kripa is essential Where is the ocean of Shama Rasa?
22:30We do not know even in which direction to take the first step. Unless we have, we take shelter of the foot dust of Radhika. Radhika ra dasi yadi hoi abhiman, shigara milai tavagokul kaan. And unless one takes shelter of this Brandatavi, the forest of Brandavan, and unless one engages in the Sambhasya, that is conversation with the Brajarasiks, whose chitta, whose heart is a gambir, deeply absorbed in Radha Dasyam, the service of Shimati Radhika.
23:12So Guru Kripa is essential. You know that? Don't think that, oh, by Guru Kripa, then I can get my goal, the darshan of the Supreme Lord. Why? Because when Prahlad Maharaj, he had the darshan of the Supreme Lord, Lord Mev Shingadev, appeared before him and wanted to give him blessings. But what did Prahlad Maharaj say?
23:57I think that Shastadji is also here with us. Vishnu Shastadji Maharaj is also here with us today.
24:10So Prahlad Maharaj said to Lord Nishingadev, Oh my Lord, all the people of this world, they are fallen into a deep well full of poisonous snakes. This is material existence. You cannot get out and only suffering and difficulties. It is inescapable. And they have so many desires and they're following those desires. And I was associating with those persons and I was also following them. And so I was in that situation.
24:57Vox Populi, what everyone is doing, what everyone is saying, I believed it. And so along with them, I was in the darkness of ignorance and suffering so much. But what happened? Krittu Atmasat. Surashina Bhagavan Grijite.
25:20Surashina means Devarshi. Narad. He said, but my Gurudev, Narad, Krittu Atmasat. What does that mean? We pray.
25:34Kobiheno Kripalabhiya Aijan, Krittu Athoi Binat, Shaktibudhin Amiyatinam, Koramore Atmasat. Oh, Gurudev, I have no power. I have no buddhi, no intelligence. Kindly, make me atmasat. That means, make me one with you. Vishnachav Itakur, in his comment on this, he said that, though I was in this ignorant position, but Narodmuni accepted me, and he, by his kripa, he made me a part of himself. Understand? The disciple becomes the Prakash, the expansion of Guru's Bhav. The love that Sri Guru has for Krishna. That Bhav overflows from his heart into the heart of the disciple.
26:32And now the disciple, he is the like part of his Guru, not separate from Guru. So to be Atmasat means, oh Gurudev, I am not independent from you. I belong to you. I have no existence separate from you. I exist for your happiness, but we cannot attain that mentality, that chitta-vrti, by our own effort. It is only by kripa. So kripta-atma-sat-sura-shina, Bhagavan-grihite, oh my lord, he's praying to the Supreme Lord, Pralapa Maharaj, and saying that though I was completely lost, Narad Muni, My Gurudev came and he made me a part of him, his very self.
27:22And in this way, engage me in all the angles of How can I ever give up his service? We don't serve Guru so we can get our goal and then goodbye to Guru. Guru is not the stepping stone to go somewhere else. The relation between Satsisha and Sadguru is a nitta, eternal relationship of the purest neha, love and affection.
28:11Only the disciple who has surrendered to the Guru, they can realize this fact. And the Sadguru himself, he never sees the Satsisha as being separate from himself, even by his vision, because the Sadguru has so much love for his spiritual master. He sees that each of his satshishas who have come to him, each is one form of his own Guru.
28:39And so he loves that disciple. Gurudev has more love for the shishya than millions and millions of mothers.
28:52Anyone cannot adequately describe the Guru Kripal. Only those who experienced it, they can know. But just like a dumb person, he can taste the gore, but he cannot describe it. So, yesterday it was the disappearance day of Parampoochapada Siddha Bhakti Daya Madhava Goswami Maharaj and we're discussing some pastimes from his life that gives some insight into the glory of a great Vaishnav and the relation between Guru, Sadguru and Sadshish.
29:39He said when he was serving in the Mart in Calcutta, at that time, after he'd been there for some time, one younger Brahmachari was coming and saying, oh, I want to clean your room. Oh, let me wash your cloth. But he said, no, no, you cannot clean my room. You cannot wash my cloth.
30:03So then one day he went, when Pujhapada Bhaktivigyan Bharati Maharaj, he was not looking. Then that Pramachari came and he stole his cloth with the buckets. And then he came after him and said, oh, give me that bucket back. Then his guru saw the two disciples arguing over the buckets of the laundry.
30:27So then he said, oh, don't become an obstacle to his seva vritti. You see, that younger devotee, he wanted to do some seva. So his guru told him, don't become the obstacle to his seva vritti. This is the most important thing in our spiritual life. Whenever we see the Seva Briti, that means the tendency to render some service in anyone, or if it comes in ourself a little, then Guru and Vaishnavas, they'll always encourage that.
31:07They always find that spark that it will grow because our Seva Briti, it is everything. We're in the material worldwide, Boga Briti, tendency to enjoy the world, and it can only be counteracted by the appearance of the Seva Briti. Now, Srila Bharati Maharaj, he was a Brahmacharya at that time, he didn't want to let him serve because he was thinking that I'm doing some service and I get some benefit.
31:43But if I accept service from anyone, they will take away my benefit. Don't think that if someone serves you that this is like free. No, if anyone will do some service for you, then they take one portion of your Sukriti, of your service that you have done. They'll take some of that. So this is why he didn't want to give the bucket of laundry to him.
32:11But his Guru Maharaj said, look, while he's doing your laundry, then you can spend that time serving Vaishnava's senior to you. And by serving your seniors, you'll get so much more benefit than he will take by washing or laundry. So, in this way, you don't block his savability, encourage him, and you give your time and energy in serving your seniors even more.
32:44There'll be no loss in this, everything is auspicious.
32:52One day, Paramthujapad Silla Bhakti Dait Madhama Raj, He was traveling and he went up to Punjab there in Jalandhar. And one old lady came to see him and said, I have visited this temple every day since I was a young girl, before I was married. And I have continued this practice every day until my old age.
33:25And I've been blessed with sons and grandsons and granddaughters. and there was never a time in my life when I did not go every day to the temple. But now I've become old and my mind does not even for a moment remember the deity, Krishna. My mind doesn't remember Krishna. Even though I try to force my mind to remember Krishna, but my mind is naturally thinking about my sons and my daughters and especially now I'm old, I'm thinking about what will happen to my grandsons and they're my granddaughters. So she said, can you please explain what is my defect and how can I make a remedy for this? So then Poojapad Srila Bhakti Dait Madhav Goswami, he said, your question
34:24is appropriate. And I shall answer this question, but not now. You come back in the evening during Harikata because it will be beneficial for everyone. So then the next day in the evening, there was a big assembly and Srila Bhakti Dait Madhama Maharaj he raised this question you have been visiting the temple every day for a long long time but you did not get the habit of always remembering Krishna you're thinking of your family members why because did you even once consider what is your sambandha with the deity in the temple then that old lady said no it never occurred to me? What is my sambandha? With the deity in the temple. So Maharaj explained to her
35:31that our mind goes to that place where we feel sambandha, a relationship. It's like my Gurudev used to say, in Keshavji Gordiamat, people used to visit every day. Sometimes they would lead a newspaper there. So one Brahmachari, he used to go and look and see what's in the newspaper.
35:56So every day you can read in the newspaper, earthquake, 60,000 people have died. plane crash 250 people have died you can hear so many disasters but one day that brahmachari was reading the newspaper and he read one one person a magistrate from bengal had died and he dropped the paper and he fainted he was hearing that thousands of people are dying regularly and he didn't feel anything then one day he read that one person had died and he fainted why was his father without sambandha without a relationship we don't feel any emotion therefore Raghunata Swami is saying means Gopal mantra when Diksha Guru he gives the Gopal mantra and also Shiksha in that mantra then he indicates to the disciple
37:02what is your Vishesh sambandha are you are you related with
37:07Nasingadeva, Narayan, Karma, Matsya, Varaha, Lord Ramachandra, or Krishna, or Krishna in Dwaraka,
37:15or Krishna in Braja. And what kind of relationship? As Krishna's Sakha, friend, or parent, like Yashodamiya, or beloved, like Brajigopis, or Dasi, to the Radhakrishnu, Yugalakishwar, to the divine couple? What kind of relationship is there? So when, by the mercy of Sri Guru and Gopal mantra the devotee surrenders to krishna with the fixed sambanda and then all their hearing chanting now you're sitting listening in harikata but with what sambanda so one who is undergoing the vidvat rudhi diksha will actual diksha then all their hearing chanting remembering is performed from the vantage points of their vishesh sambanda special relationship with sikrishna And day by day, just like when a girl gets married in that wedding ceremony,
38:26one time the priest will say, say to your husband, Swaha, and now they'll be related as husband and wife for seven lifetimes. So if you offer yourself with Sambandha to Siddhartha, to Gopinath, with a Swaha, ten times every morning, noon and evening, then what kind of thick sambandha will come? Strong sambandha. And then when relation is there, then the mind automatically goes in the direction of the person with whom we're related.
39:11Otherwise, it's impossible.
39:20If a person is griha barata, you've made a vow. I'm related to my house, to my wife, to my mother, father and my children. This is my sambandha. then mati na krishna your mati will never go to krishna not by your own effort not by the effort of other people and not by the combination of both again prahlad maraj is explaining this so this is a very important teaching one day parampujapad sila bhakti died madhav goswami he the acquired a piece of land in calcutta and they were going to construct a mat but But on that land, there was an old building.
40:19There was a building already there. And so he sent the devotees there and they began to demolish that building. They were just starting to demolish it. At that time, Parampujpada Sri Rupasiddhanti Maharaj came and he said, Are you people crazy? Look at this beautiful old building. It has Italian mosaic floor. It has Belgian glass windows.
40:49And the door frames and everything are made of first class. sagoon wood from Burma and you're knocking it down are you out of your mind look you should tell your when you see your Guru Maharaj you tell him that I am giving the advice don't demolish this building so then Srila Bhaktivigyan Bharati Maharaj he went to his Gurudev and told him what he said and so his Guru Maharaj said to him look if you want to throw a stone at this thing nearby He said, if you want to throw a stone here, how will you throw it?
41:36He said, like this. He said, but if you want to throw a stone at that door, then how will you throw it?
41:43More effort. So he said, in the same way, in spiritual life, in seva, you should try to aim high. Because if you are aiming high, that means to do something bigger, then you, just like you throw a stone like this, or you throw like this, you put in more effort from the very beginning.
42:04and from the more effort more dedication so then you will progress more so he gave an example he said that if napoleon went by ship to conquer a country then when he arrived there then he would tell his men burn the boat why that means we cannot lose because we cannot go back we have to win give that he would give them no choice and when he told his soldiers we have to march over the alps then the soldier said it's impossible he said impossible is a word in a fool's dictionary so in the same way when a person is left with no other option that he has to act then he becomes full of vitality so in the same way though this building is nice but it's too
43:02small you need a bigger space we want to have big kirtan and big programs of harikata and so So if you knock it down, then you have to go out and preach, you have to do bhiksh, you have to collect something, you have to construct. Otherwise you have no place to live even. He said, so it's true that necessity is the mother of invention.
43:29And so in this way, this was the attitude of Parampoojapath Sili Bhaktivik, the Madhava Goswami Maharaj. Srila Bhaktaraksha Siddha Maharaj, he used to say, he has volcanic energy for saiva, just like a volcano. It may look big, but actually the energy is deep down and unlimited. it's covered. So in the same way, Parampujapathila Bhakti, Daitmada Goswami, his godbrothers used to say, he has the volcanic energy for saver. There are so many pastimes of Maharaj, but there's especially one I want to describe. That is, once it happened that there was a Babaji, his name was Krishna Prem Das Babaji. He was a disciple of Bhaktisiddhanta Sazori
44:39Thakwar. And he was in charge of a mat in Maiman Singh, that is East Bengal. And then later he came from there and he established an ashram in Mayapur, the birthplace of Chaitanya Mahapur. So once from there he traveled and he went to Madinapur and he was preaching there and he was becoming old and he had an accident and he slipped and he injured his coccyx, you know, the tailbone.
45:19So, at that time, then, when he was injured, he came to the mart of Śrīla Bhakti Mahārāj in Calcutta, and he met with Śrīla Bhakti Vigyan Bharati Mahārāj, and Śrīla Bhakti Vigyan Bharati Mahārāj took care of him. He knew a doctor, and he took him to meet with that doctor. They made an X-ray, and they treated him, and then he was serving him and taking care of him for some time until he recovered. And then when that Krishpārīm that Babaji had recovered, then he went back to his ashram in Mayapur. So then, when he was there in the ashram in Mayapur, he would proudly proclaim that Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Sazare Thakur, he is fearless, like a lion. He was like a lion-like preacher. And because we are his
46:18children. So we are also nearby. We are not afraid of anyone. He was pontificating in somewhat proud way. We are not afraid of anyone. And during that time, it happened that he was criticizing Srila Bhakti Dayat Madhava Goswami. He was saying some critical things about him. Be careful.
46:56In regard to Raghunath Bhattagoswami in Chaitanitam, it is said he would never allow any criticism of a Vaishnava to go in his ears. He would cover his ears at once and say, everyone is doing bhajan except for me.
47:14So that's Babaji, he criticized Srila Bhaktida in Madha Maharaj. So then what happened in his ashram there, he had some date trees and he employed one laborer to come and extract the juice from the date trees. and he said, you can keep half of it for your labor and the other half you can give to me and half, that's your pay for extracting the juice.
47:38So then that laborer come and he extracted the juice from the trees and then he got all the juice and he was leaving. So then that Krishna Priyam does Babaji Maharaj came. He said, wait, wait, wait. The deal was, you can have half of the payment and other half is for me. He said, oh, you are Babaji.
47:55What do you need with the dead juice? You don't need this. And so then they were quarreling and then that person, he was a very low-class person, he became furious. And to take all the dangers, he took a big stick and he beat that Babaji and injured him quite severely. He was very wicked.
48:18So then, at that time, one devotee came and told Srila Bhaktivedya and Bharati Maharaj, oh, that fearless child of a lion, he just got hit by a jackal. So what should we do? So then Parampujabhad Srila Bhakti Dait Madhava Maharaj, he sent his disciple, Srila Bhakti Vigyan Bharti Maharaj, he sent him, oh go to his ashram and take care of him and sort out the situation.
48:55So he went there, he called the police and they solved the situation. So then Srila Bhakti Vigyan Bharti Goswami, he wrote to his Gurudev, oh Gurudev, we have solved this situation now, what should I do now? So then Srila Bhakti died, Madam Raj, he wrote back to him. You should stay there for some time and serve Krishna Das Babaji Maharaj.
49:24Serve him and make sure that everything in his mat is going on very nicely. And if you need some money, we can send some money from our main temple to help support him. Now understand, this is the person who had criticized him even. But now he was in a problem and he even sent his disciple there to serve him.
49:46And said, I'll send money also. So then Srila Bhaktivigyan Bharatiya Goswami Maharaj, he wrote back to his Gurudev. He said, oh Gurudev, previously when he was injured in Calcutta, we took care of him. But then as soon as he came to Mayapur, he was saying derogatory things about you. And he uses very bitter language.
50:14And because of this, I've lost all Sraddha in him. If you want to serve a Vaishnava, you have to have a Sraddha in that Vaishnava. You have to have faith. He said, so I have lost all inclination to serve him and I have no faith. So then Srila Bhakti Daitmada Goswami Maharaj wrote back to him.
50:38He said, I will be very pleased if you can serve him in a flawless way.
50:47So then Srila Bhakti Bhakti Goswami Maharaj, he said, you have told me to do it. So I'll serve him for your pleasure, for your happiness. And I'll do my best to satisfy him. But I have to inform you, it will not be possible for me to serve with my full heart, serve him with my full heart, because I don't have faith.
51:09But I'm doing it anyway, because you have given me this order. So then Srila Bhakti Vigyan Varti Maharaj was serving him, serving him, even though he did not like him, even though he did not have faith in him, even though he was critical of his guru, even though he used to use harsh language.
51:30but anyway it was the order of guru so he did it and then that Babaji Maharaj he recovered from his injuries from that incident and when he recovered then he wrote a letter to Srila Bhakti Daitmada Goswami Raj and he admitted he said even though I have a bitter tongue and I have chastised your disciples and i spoke to them in harsh language but they have served me very very sincerely they serve me very sincerely so now i am old and i cannot manage this ashram in mayapu anymore so i request you please accept i want to give you the whole ashram so that the babaji he wrote that letter and he gave it to sila bhaktivigan barjimaj and sila bhaktivigan barjimaj came back to his
52:41Guru Mahaj, and he read out the letter from that Babaji. Oh, I have chastised your disciples with harsh language, everything, but they were so sincere. Now I want to give you my ashram. So then Srila Bhakti died, Madam Maharaj. He told Srila Bhaktivedya and Bharati Maharaj, who just read the letter, take your pen and paper. So he took up the paper and pen, said, take my dictation. I'm dictating a reply to that Babaji Maharaj. You have written that you wish to offer me your Mayapur ashram, but I already have one ashram in Mayapur. I don't want to have two establishments in the same place.
53:31So please offer your ashram to another one of our god brothers who does not have a mat.
53:46This is the heart of a vise. Give it to another god brother who is struggling and does not have a not then he's he's and now he's dictating this do you did any of you meet i used to take all the devotees to have darshan of shila bhaktivigan bharti maraj who met with him yes some yes so so he's young and he's writing and he's good he's dictating to him so i said write it down write it down please know that it was not out of a desire to own your ashram that we have served you and i sent my disciples to serve you. Truthfully, I have no interest in taking your ashram. It's only
54:30because you have deep faith in our Gurudev, Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Śrīla Prabhupada, that you are the object of our most sincere seva. You see, without even considering his qualities, without even considering this person criticised me, only seeing his faith in Gurudev, he thought, oh, he is the object of my seva. What kind of bhav is this? This is the bhav of pure Vaishnava. So Srila Bhakti Bigham Bharti Mahat said, as I was writing the letter, then tears were flowing down my face and I stopped writing. I could not even write it. I was crying so much. And he said, at that moment, at that moment, then I realized a verse written by Krishpadas Kavaraj Goswami. What is that?
55:44Chaitanya Mahapur said, Hey, Sarvabhaambhadacharya, consider this. The servant of my guru is always to be honoured and respected by me.
56:00You see?
56:04Our Poojapad Sri Kamal Nayan Chatovedi, actually, he's the God-brother of our Shiksha Guru, Sri Vishnuji Shastri Maharaj. God-brother, actually.
56:18But really, he's a Shiksha disciple. Servant. So he is a servant of our Shikshara Guru. So how maamnya, how the servant of Guru who has sadha in our own Guru should be honored.
56:39My Gurudev used to say, if someone tells me this dog has served your Guru, my Gurudev said, I'll give pranam and do parakrama of even a dog. If I heard that he did some savor for my Gurudev. Why?
56:53Ananya mamata vishnu mamata prema sangata.
56:58What is bhakti? It is the undivided possessiveness for the object of love. But also for everything related to that. What is Tudiya? What is related to the object of love? I also love.
57:23I cannot leave Vrandavan. I cannot give up Jamuna Devi, Girraj Govardhan, Bansibat, Kesigat, Girsamir. This is all the Tadiya of Radha and Krishna So what is related to them? You have to love that also So who is related to Guru? If we love them If we don't love them Then what does that say about our love for Gurudev?
57:48There's no love for Gurudev If you don't love who is related to Gurudev So even though that person His behavior was sometimes not ideal And the way he used to speak And sometimes he was critical Directly personally to Madam Maharaj but how he served him. And so Srila Bhakti began, Bharatiya Maharaji could not even write and he was crying.
58:14And he said at that moment, he said, even though I read Chaitanya Chardamrita this verse many times, but I never realized it. But that moment when I could not write, then the meaning appeared in my heart. Why? Because what happened? Chaitanya Mahapur was in Jagannath Puri. He was with the great scholar Saravabha Bhomabhata Acharya sitting there and other associates.
58:37and just then one shudra one shudra arrived there and he gave pranam to mahaprabhu and he introduced himself he said my name is govinda my name is govinda and i was the personal servant of ishwara puri smaaprabhu's guru he was personal servant and just before shila ishwara puri left this world he told me in his last moments he said you have served so nicely now i'm leaving Now you go and serve Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu So I have come here on the order of Guru to become your servant So at that time, Sargabha Bhattacharya He said, Ah, your Guru Ishwara Puripad is such a great Vaishnava and a great Brahmin Why did he have a personal servant who is a Sudra?
59:41Then Mahaprabhu, he said Krishna, his behavior is Swatantra. He's not controlled by any video of Shastra or Smriti or anything. What is he controlled by? He's controlled by Sneya, affection. In fact, Krishna is only, only dependent on a little bit of Sneha, natural, spontaneous love, acting in a selfless way just for the other person's happiness, this Sneha, without any mood of the Sambhambhav, if the Sambhambhav will be there, all the etiquette, then one's mood
1:00:44will be controlled by maryada so if someone hears only the words sneha means very soft greasy like oil one's heart is very soft and affectionate and compliant to the desire of the object of love If someone only hears the word Sneha, affection, then it becomes blissful. There is 10 Koti Sukh, 10 million times more happiness in the dealings of Sneha than in the dealings of Maryada.
1:01:38Is it correct?
1:01:43So in the dealings of Vindhi, that is Maryada, there is not so much happiness as in the dealings of Raga, Pusti, Sneha, affection. So, because Krishna is only controlled by love, he is not controlled by any vidhi rules and regulations. He is independent. And that pure devotee of Krishna is also not actually controlled by any vidhi.
1:02:08He may follow vidhi to set an example for others, but he is not controlled by that. And this is why Srila Ishvara Puripad, he accepted the service of Govinda because of Govinda's Svabhavik Sneha, natural affection.
1:02:27So then, Mahaprabhu, Sarvabha Bhattacharya, asked this question. How did he accept this person as a servant? But now, Mahaprabhu is saying, how can I accept him as a servant?
1:02:40Prabhu Kohi Bhattacharya Kareya Vichar, Guru Kinkar Hai Manya Seyama, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu said,
1:02:48O Sarvabha Bhattacharya, please consider this very carefully. the kinkar that means the servant of gurudev is to be honored by me how can i now accept him as my kinkar as my personal servant how is it possible so first sarah baum badhacharya asked the question and maapu gave the answer now maapu was asking the question and sarah baum badhacharya gave the answer in srimad bhagata he said just like jamadagni he told to parasharam cut off the head of your mother and without any question just why because he knew the order of my guru and father it is all auspicious afterwards he was so pleased he said i'll give you a benediction and he said bring my mother back to life she came back to life but that example is there in srimad bharata
1:03:49to show us don't deliberate on the order of guru what gurudev says then we should follow that The opinion of the Acharya is the essence of all Shastra What Acharya tells us to do This is the essence of all Shastra So if someone If someone transgresses the order of Gurudev It becomes Asad It becomes completely useless So when Sarbhambha Tacharya said Answer the question How can I accept him as my servant when he is the servant of Guru and he is to be worshipped by me?
1:04:40Then Sargum Bhattacharya said, you cannot deliberate, it's the order of Guru. So then realizing this, then Mahaprabhu, he picked up the Govinda and embraced him and accepted him as his servant in the Gangbeera, in Kashimishra Bhavan, in Jagannath Puri. So Seelabhaktivhika and Bharti Mahath said that the servant of Guru is to be honoured and worshipped by me.
1:05:06Why? Because he is the Kripa Patra of Guru Dev. He has a Sraddha in Guru. He reminds us of Guru Pada Padma. So therefore he is to be honoured. So Srila Bhaktivigang Bhaktivigang said, I read this verse in Chaitanya Tarantara many times, but I never realised it. But it became Prakash.
1:05:40only for one who is devoted to the Lord and to the Guru, to Gurudev, not less. Then the meaning of the Shastra becomes Prakash, illuminated in the heart. So as when his pen stopped and he was crying and he could not even write, then there was the illumination of the Bhav of Mahaprabhu.
1:06:00Guru Kinkar Ahoy, Manya Se Amar. So he is so Manya to me. Also my God brothers here, Oh, our very dear disciple of Śrīla Prabhupāda is here, Dhamarāj Prabhu. So Guru, Kinkara, Mannyasaya, they are to be respected by us. So Śrīla Bhaktivedya and Bhartimārāj said, When I heard my Guru glorifying the God-brother that had criticized him, then I really realized the meaning of this verse even.
1:06:39And I could realize the glory of Vaishnava, the glory of my Guru there, because it was his conduct. That if anyone was hostile to him, he was never hostile to them.
1:06:57Just like Ambarish Maharaj, Durvasa Rishi tried to kill him. But Ambarish Maharaj, he was praying for the benefit of Durvasa Rishi.
1:07:15Today I have seen the glories of Vaishnava. Durvasa said, I tried to kill him, but he was praying for my benefit. so nowadays this Kali Yuga has progressed and this vision is lacking in many Vaishnavas a person thinks if this devotee he served my guru so much but today just recently he's not becoming favorable towards me so I will not support him anymore even though I have many faults myself but there's no need to serve him no this mood is wrong this is a blockage this is anarta this is not the sign of Guru Bhakti, actually. So, in this way, I am offering my Shraddha Pushpanjali at the lotus feet of Parampuraj Bhad. I'm offering my Shraddha Pushpanjali at the lotus
1:08:16feet of Parampuraj Bhad. Bhakti died. Madhava Goswami, who is, even today, it was his disappearance day yesterday, but even today, the light of his glories is illuminating us and teaching us what is really the nature of Guru Bhakti.
