0:21It was wonderful and surprising for me when I was thinking about these six questions about Srimad Bhagavatam. And just in a couple of days you will start with this topic and you are just giving exactly a list of questions and answers because I could not find this on the internet. So if you can answer a few more questions to make our sambandha with Srimad Bhagavatam more strong.
0:47So, I wanted to ask you, yes, we know that Srimad Bhagavatam is full and is complete, unlimited, it's Krishna himself, so still he has this kalpa, like form of 18,000 of verses, does he change between kalpas, does he have different forms, for example, now 18,000 verses, but another maybe 10 or 100,000, maybe some verses, another question, what is the original primary reason of appearing of Srimad Bhagavatam, does it love of devotees, is it connected somehow with the appearance of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, maybe there is a difference of Srimad Bhagavatam when Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu appears, but when he doesn't appear, is it another form of Srimad Bhagavatam or what?
1:45And also we know in the second Kantal 8 chapter of Bhagavatam there is a list of questions of Rikshit Maharaj and there is a very specific order of these questions. He looks for conditions solved, he jumps from topic to topic. What is the meaning of this sequence of questions when it looks like this?
2:11So, first of all, Srimad Bhagavatam was four verses to begin with, and then it was expanded by Vyasadeva, and then it was spoken to Sukadeva Goswami, then he spoke again, and then Suta Goswami spoke to Shonaka Rishi, and then Vyasadeva compiled the Bhagavatam as it is today. So it went through certain, let's say, there were different iterations of Srimad Bhagavatam, and that's mentioned in Srimad Bhagavatam itself.
2:54So we know from Shastra that actually the Mahabharata on this planet is 100,000 verses, but it's a, I don't remember the exact numbers, but a million verses in the heavenly planets and in another place. So, in this way, there are also different recensions of the Mahabharata on different planets as well. But I have not seen anything in Shastra that the Srimad Bhagavatam has different recensions with different numbers on different planets or in other kalpas.
3:33But if that were to affect, then that is the Supreme Lord. it's his right to perform pastimes as he likes, just like in every kalpa, the Supreme Lord doesn't do the lila the same, so his incarnation of Srimad Bhagavatam doesn't have to do everything the same every time, but the point is that in the particular kalpa that we are in, everyone should accept that version of Srimad Bhagavatam, which is coming in Guru Parampara, because
4:25So the main point is that in the kaupat that we are in, we should accept the version of Srimad Bhagavatam, which is coming in the Bhagavat, Guru Parampara.
4:44So in the Bhagavat, Guru Parampara, Krishna actually enters into each member, and then Krishna himself reveals himself through that personage in the Guru Parampara. So, that was the first question in regard to number of verses and everything. Then, the second question was in regard to? Oryji, for every reason of appearing of Srimad Bhagavad-gita.
5:10Oh, is it connected to Chaitanya Mahaprabhu? Well, you know, it is said that one of the qualities of the Supreme Lord is that he's a genius. And the genius nature of the Supreme Lord is that by doing one activity, he can fulfill many, many purposes at once. So, whenever the Supreme Lord does anything, in any incarnation, it never has one reason or one purpose.
5:36But then again, we can always understand that whatever those many purposes are, they can be divided into internal and external. Now, internal and external does not mean spiritual and material. Here, internal and external means to fulfill his own desires, and external means to benefit others.
6:34vision to those who have lost their vision. And it has become the shelter of dharma and jnan. That's the last question of the six questions. So one of the reasons for Srimad Bhagavatam has appeared is to give shelter to dharma and jnan and to illuminate, to give light, to give vision to persons who have lost their vision due to the influence of Kali Yuga.
6:59So that's obviously outer and the ultimate purpose of Srimad Bhagavatam in regard to the living entities is to transfer them from this world to see Krishna's pastimes in Galoka-Bharindavan. So the message of Srimad Bhagavatam is Raganuga-bhakti. Another important point is, and this is where one can say there's some connection with Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, because even though Srimad Bhagavatam is unlimited and so many messages can be there and so many levels of realizations and levels of gifts that it can bestow upon the world, unless there's a prampara to communicate Srimad Bhagavatam and reveal those secrets that the Srimad Bhagavatam holds, then no one will be able to extract those things.
7:54So when Sri Krishna appears in this world, first of all, Sri Krishna appears in every kalpa, in every single kalpa, so in every day of Lord Brahma, so Sri Krishna appears in this world, and the Srimad Bhagavatam is the very incarnation of that Krishna who is Rasa Surup, so Srimad Bhagavatam is always Krishna, the Rasa Surup Krishna, and every time in the day of Lord Brahma, in the Kali Yuga, immediately after the Dwarpa Yuga, where Krishna appears, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu appears. So actually you can see that the Goralila is not some separate lila, it is Krishna lila, Goralila is Krishna, but it's the extension of Krishna lila, it's the Parishistha, it's the appendix to the book of Krishna lila, if you like.
8:52So quite naturally, as Sri Krishna appears, and when he disappears, he remains present in the form of Srimad Bhagavatam, but the Krishna lila extends, its Parishistha extends into the Gora lila, so in the same way, the incarnation of Sri Krishna in the form of Srimad Bhagavatam is still playing a role in that lila, so the Srimad Bhagavatam is central to Gora lila.
9:21We cannot imagine what is Goralila without Srimad Bhagavatam. It's integral to Goralila. One of the reasons is we can say that Krishna has appeared to realize the glories of Radhika's love, to realize the sweetness in Krishna that only she can realize through her love, and to experience the happiness she feels when she tastes his sweetness through the glories of her love like that.
10:00So Krishna's three desires, the types of greed by which he was impelled to appear as Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, they're connected with each other But if we see them, we notice that essentially Krishna, who is the Vishayi Vigraha, is now having a pastime of realizing the Vishayi Vigraha from the vantage point of the Ashraya Vigraha, Srimati Radhika And so now, see, Krishna is in the form of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, that means in Radha Bhav, now he has to see and experience Krishna through that Radha Bhav.
10:43So the form in which he relishes Krishna is the deity, like Tata Gopinas, Lord Jagannas, and also the Bhagavatam, which is also Krishna Swaroop. So Krishna in Radha Bhav is relishing Krishna Swaroop in Bigra form and the Shastra Granta form as well So yes, the Srimad Bhagavatam is definitely, as it's integral to Krishna Leela, it's also integral to Gora Leela because it's the continuation of Krishna Leela Is it clear? Oh, then there was a question. Oh, okay. Tomorrow we'll discuss that. And just now we will have a break. Achyutalabhata is returning today to continue with Lalit Madhav Natakam for six days. So we have six more days of this series.
